第七届上海双年展《生日》、《乐园》、《歧》、《聚》
星期二, 十一月 4th, 2008虞华是中国新锐的艺术家之一，作品《生日》、《乐园》、《歧》、《聚》描绘了已经概念化的城市景象，图像中已看不出它到底是哪个城市。她把绚烂的城市游乐园化。在游乐园中，最具有速度又惊险刺激的就是过山车，有很多轨道，它是迁移所需的媒介，在迁移中有各种选择，也有很多奇妙未知的事情发生。人口迁移的中心往往是发达的城市。她在作品中天真地幻想着一个自言自语的世界，把迁移的问题变成美好的童话，只是不希望在现实世界中失去人类的童话般的乐园。她为我们建造了一座乌托邦式的快城快客。
Yu Hua is an emerging Chinese artist. Her works, in particular Birthday, Paradise, Divergence and Meeting, depict a conceptualized image of cities. Viewing her works, observers find it impossible to determine which city they are looking at. She turns colorful cities into amusement parks where the most thrilling part is a roller coaster with a number of rail lines. These rail lines are an important medium for migration, usually from rural areas to developed cities, which provides people with many options and can lead to countless exciting and unexpected turns. The artist adds a touch of na?ve imagination to reality in her works, turning the issue of migration into a fairytale, hoping that the fairytale-like paradises are not lost forever in the real world. Her works guide viewers into a utopian “Translocalmotion”
